A short introduction to Arsenal

Arsenal is a 3D first-person shooter game. The vision is to introduce high-quality games on Fabwelt that are fun and gaming-focused, not just a way to earn. Arsenal involves global tournaments, which will be played after the successful deployment on the Polygon mainnet.

Arsenal is also the first introduction of Fabwelt in-Game NFTs. The NFT technology we provide will offer much more than the typical use as collectibles or assets. We introduce NFT technology in our games as utilities supplemented by known use cases (i.e., collectibles and assets.)

Using NFTs as in-game utilities means players can use specific NFTs to trigger special features or actions during gameplay. A few examples:

• Activating infinite ammo
• Looking through walls
• Increasing building speed

Do you have any metrics of success or milestones you’ve hit for the game so far?

In a short time, Fabwelt has emerged as one of the leading gaming projects on Polygon. Even in its early stages of development, the game has already picked up a good amount of traction. Indeed, Fabwelt took first prize in a recent hackathon organized by Dora Hacks. It had over 3,800 registered users who have played a combined total of close to 100,000 hours.

What are some blockers to the adoption of web3 gaming, and how do we overcome them?

Lack of education and awareness are the two main factors causing adoption to lag. Dealing with cryptocurrencies to participate in gaming platforms needs to be a routine. Moreover, web3 gaming lacks quality games with depth in their gameplay. With improvements, adoption by traditional and professional gamers will increase.

What should aspiring web3 gaming developers focus on?

How was your experience building a blockchain game using the ChainSafe Gaming SDK?

Overall, the experience was smooth. With to the Unity SDK plugin from ChainSafe, the blockchain features of Fabwelt game were easily implemented. The SDK gave Fabwelt everything what it needed to achieve its goals.

Furthermore, during the development of Arsenal, ChainSafe pushed new updates of the SDK enabling a better user experience to connect their wallet to the games and retrieve the information the Fabwelt platform need.

What blockchain features are you hoping to build for Arsenal or your other games?

As a gaming ecosystem, Fabwelt keep building new games. The team stated and believe that not everybody likes the same genres of games, and Fabwelt aims to provide a diversity of high-end games. Everybody can have fun, earn, and explore what interests them in our ecosystem.

How are you using the ChainSafe Gaming SDK in Arsenal?

First, Fabwelt is using the plugin to allow players to connect their wallets on different chains (BSC, polygon, KCC, HECO, and AVAX). Once connected, Fabwelt will use the plugin to check player wallet balances (needed to unlock certain features in the game).

The platform will also use the plugin to transfer tokens from their wallets to the game as in-game tokens or to allow them to redeem earned tokens in their wallets.

The second part is the NFT section. Fabwelt uses NFT tech in its game as strategic utilities and assets. Buying NFTs on the market allows the gamer to use them in-game by connecting their wallet with the ChainSafe SDK.

The third part is the tier system. When gamers stake a certain amount of tokens on the staking portal, they can earn more by playing with the multiplier system. Fabwelt use the SDK to call a function on its staking contract to retrieve the amount of staked tokens by the player.

How does the ChainSafe Gaming SDK compare to other game development tools?

In their early stages, they did a lot of research on several gaming development tools. Because they wanted to build its first game with Unity, they chose the ChainSafe SDK. And it’s turned out to be easy to implement for different use cases with it. It has clear documentation, continues to have active development, and the team has been approachable if support is required.
