Derby Stars decided to migrate to Polygon as they believe it will best serve its community and its value proposition stood out among others.

What is Derby Stars?

Derby Stars, their game was one of the most anticipated horse racing P2E metaverse games on Terra. Derby successfully finished its Seed Round of $6M USD co-led by Patron and Galaxy Interactive.

About 10K origin horses minted and distributed to over 3K unique holders and the team is preparing for the game launch soon after the migration.

Why Polygon?

The Derby team made the decision after reviewing various factors; chain stability & scalability, community size & activeness and foundation support.

Chain stability & scalability: Service stability, speed of the chain, and gas fees
Community size & activeness: Number of active wallets, NFT transaction volume, and GameFi favorability.
Foundation support: technical readiness and support resources, business development and marketing support, migration-specific support

By moving to Polygon, its NFTs would not only be exposed to major NFT marketplaces like Opensea. But also provide its users with gasless-UX with certain limitations to prevent network spamming.

Polygon is an Ethereum-based scaling solution that aims to provide multiple tools to reduce cost and complexities of blockchains. Polygon has numerous scaling solutions under their pipeline, such as Polygon Hermez and Polygon Supernet.
