]]> Jasmine Energy is launching the first Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC) “bridge” on Polygon.

Polygon has earned its reputation as the home of Regenerative Finance (ReFi) by hosting leading ReFi projects including Flowcarbon, Toucan, dClimate, and New Atlantis. Jasmine Energy is joining those projects and leading the expansion of the ReFi community into renewable energy financing.

The ReFi movement is applying the tools and techniques of decentralized Finance (DeFi) to create financial systems that promote environmental and social sustainability. Though only a few years old, the movement has disrupted the legacy voluntary carbon market, developed token mechanics for natural resource management, and built numerous Distributed Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) to fund regenerative projects.

Jasmine is contributing to this community by launching the Jasmine Bridge later this month. Jasmine’s bridge will enable users to move Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) including Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from legacy registries onto the blockchain by tokenizing them. Once on the blockchain, these assets can be integrated with the existing ReFi/DeFi infrastructure to gain a level of financial sophistication not currently available to them in the legacy financial system. This financial sophistication will lower the cost of financing renewable energy constructing and divert more capital into these important projects.
