By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, they now have access to the tamper-proof and verifiable source of randomness required to choose the raffle winners. Knives Legacy Integrated Chainlink VRF users may check the random number used in the winner selection process on-chain and get a variety of rewards, including NFTs, WL, and other surprises, as a result of the system.

The Knives Legacy NFT project has built a raffle on its Avalanche-based dApp. The raffle is on-chain, enabling everything to be recorded on the blockchain and therefore more secure and transparent. Following the on-chain raffle, we plan to launch a military-themed GameFi platform.

In order to draw the raffle winners, they need access to a secure random number generator (RNG) that any user could independently audit. However, RNG solutions for smart contracts require several security considerations to prevent manipulation and ensure system integrity. Specifically, miners/validators may abuse RNG solutions obtained from blockchain data like block hashes, whereas off-chain RNG solutions produced from off-chain APIs are opaque and don’t offer consumers with clear assurance regarding the integrity of the process.

Chainlink VRF generates a random integer and cryptographic proof by mixing unknown block data with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key. If the VRF method is tamper-proof, the Knives Legacy smart contract will accept the random number input. This assures on-chain that the winner drawing procedure was fair and unaffected by the oracle, other actors, or Knives Legacy.
