This is a special instance because they have never previously supported the bridging and migration of an ERC20 token from one chain to its own sidechain, as well as converting it to the sidechain’s native gas token version. Because MATTER was created on the Ethereum blockchain, it is an ERC20-MATTER on Ethereum and a native-MATTER token on B2. They were able to easily connect the ERC20-MATTER from Ethereum to the native-MATTER utilized as the gas token on B2 using Celer’s cBridge technology. cBridge will also burn the native-MATTER on B2 and release the original ERC20-MATTER on Ethereum when bridging back to Ethereum.
