The updates to Shinobi V2 include the following:

• New Shuriken Network, much faster and lighter
• New Shinobi token model, the voting escrow model which expands the ecosystem of protocols for long-term
• Multi-assets other than BTC is now supportive

In the Public Beta Test, the Secret Network is Mainnet and Bitcoin is Testnet.
SBTC and SNB used in beta testing are for testing purposes only. Beta Test will last for one week. There will be rewards for those who give us feedback during this period.

How to participate 2nd Public Beta Test

The 2nd Public Beta Test started on 20th July at 9 am UTC!

1. Send SCRT to Kepler
   Install Keplr Wallet in Google Chrome on PC and send some SCRT to it. Then, transfer SCRT (5–10 SCRT) to Keplr.
   
2. Create BTC wallet and send Testnet BTC
   Create a Testnet BTC wallet that supports Testnet.
   Testnet wallet applications include Electrum and Bitcoin Core for desktop, Bitpay and Blockstream Green for mobile, etc.
   ♠In order to use Electrum on a testnet, the operation below is required♠
   On a Mac, after moving Electrum to the Applications folder, please use the following command: open /Applications/Electrum.app — args — testnet
   ♥On Windows, please refer to the following video♥
   

   Transfer Testnet BTC (0.0005 BTC should be enough) to the wallet you created. Bitcoin Testnet Faucet is an option.

3.  Authenticate Kepler Wallet address
   https://beta.sbtc.ninja/ (Released from start time)
   Authenticate the Secret Network address by selecting “Connect to a wallet”. In order to register the viewing key for the contract, 4 transactions will be required.
   Please select “average” for the transfer. Notes: a low fee may result in failure.
4. Mint BTC to SBTC and Release SBTC to BTC

Make sure you can convert the BTC you have to SBTC, and that you can convert SBTC to BTC!

Shinobi is one of the so-called Bridge protocols in the sense that assets on other chains can
be transferred to the Secret Network as wrapped tokens.

Secret will allow Axelar-connected applications to send private messages between siloed blockchains. Potential cross-chain use cases include providing front-running resistant swaps, private NFT trading, as well as private voting for DAOs!

To understand the potential, let’s look under the hood at Secret Network:

A Secret Contract’s code is always deployed publicly on-chain, so users and developers know exactly what code will be executed on submitted data.

However, the data that is submitted is encrypted: it cannot be read by a developer, anyone observing the chain, or anyone running a node. If the behavior of the code is trusted (which is possible because it is recorded on chain), a user of Secret Contracts obtains strong privacy guarantees.

This encrypted data can only be accessed from within the “trusted execution environment,” or enclave, that the compute module requires each validator to run. The computation of the Secret Contract is then performed within this trusted enclave, where the data is decrypted. When the computation is completed, the output is encrypted and recorded on-chain – all without the raw data ever being exposed to anyone!

This also protects against front-running, as nodes cannot see the information being submitted to the network and insert their own transactions in front of them. The users are the winners – not the bots!

Let’s now imagine in a cross-chain world how a user could benefit from these privacy guarantees. And also front-running resistance for an action such as swapping ETH on Ethereum for WBTC. A cross chain dApp will:

• Send ETH from Ethereum wallet through Axelar to Secret
• Use a Secret AMM to privately swap ETH for WBTC
• Send back WBTC to Ethereum wallet through Axelar

All this with one click and no front-running. Consider all the possible strategies, such as lending/borrowing cross-chain without revealing your liquidation levels – and more to come!

Access to New Tokens

Another exciting benefit of this integration is that Secret users will gain access to new tokens. This includes DOT, AVAX, as well as MATIC!

A cross-chain dApp already utilizing this functionality is Satellite. Developed by the Axelar team, this dApp enables users to easily transfer assets across chains through an intuitive web-based UI.
