Essentia has an open source blockchain network powered by masternodes and supernodes.

🔹Masternodes

Masternodes are Proof-of-Stake consensus nodes that perform utility functions for the Essentia network such as storing metadata, processing transactions, and signings blocks.

Each node makes the network more decentralized, secure, and stable and a masternode operator receives 25% of total block rewards.

🔹Supernodes

Supernodes are PoS consensus nodes and perform the same functions that masternodes. In contrast to a masternode, a supernode receives 75% of total block rewards, but requires larger collateral to run it.
