The Penguin Emperor is Back! New Rules, Huge Prizes

The Penguin Emperor is an iPEFI-exclusive king of the hill style betting dApp where users can show their might by placing themselves on the throne for all other Penguins to see. By bidding iPEFI, your Penguin can sit on the throne and accumulate time as the Emperor. Other users will compete for a spot on the throne, and each bid will increase the total amount required to keep playing. At the end of the competition, whoever has sat on the Throne for the longest amount of time will be victorious and collect a jackpot from all of the bidding fees throughout the game.

It’s fun, simple, and unique. It’ll show you how fast Avalanche can really be, especially when showcasing a real-time engaging minigame.

The current round will be set to Standard, which lasts 4 days (96 hours), beginning on Thursday, Sept. 23rd at 22:00 UTC and ending on Monday, Sept. 27th at 22:00 UTC.

How to participate?

To participate, you’ll need to acquire iPEFI for your bids and some AVAX for transaction fees. Keep in mind that you won’t be able to bid with iPEFI tokens that are staked in another contract like the Penguin Launchpad, but we’ve scheduled the Emperor to give users sufficient time to play and then stake before the Staking Phase ends on Sept. 29th.

Once you have enough iPEFI, you can steal the crown to take over the throne and have your Penguin displayed to everyone else. If someone steals the throne back from you, you’ll receive 97.5% of your initial bid back (2% is sent to the Jackpot, 0.5% is sent to the iPEFI Nest).

Customizing your Penguin

You’re free to choose the name, style, and color of your Penguin to demonstrate your skill and uniqueness in this game of wits. There are currently a total of 11 different styles, with infinite color combinations.

Other users will be able to view your Penguin when you take the throne, so choose wisely! If you’re not convinced, you can always change the styling of your character by completing a transaction.

To customize your Penguin, simply click on the “Customize Penguin” button on the Emperor page and type in your preferred color, and select a style from the dropdown menu.

Standard Rules & Tokenomics 💰

This dApp uses iPEFI as the betting mechanism and rewards the winners with iPEFI. The Emperor jackpot is generated from the majority of the fees (80%) collected from the game, while the remaining portion (20%) is sent to the Nest and increases the value of iPEFI!

When a Penguin loses their place on the throne by getting outbid, 2% of their bid is added to the jackpot pool, and 0.5% is sent to the iPEFI Nest (2.5% fee total). This means that even if you lose your place on the throne, you will receive 97.5% of your initial iPEFI bid back, and 0.5% of rewards are indirectly distributed back to you since you’re staking in the Nest! This creates a positive feedback loop for Nest users and rewards them with fees from an entertaining and exclusive dApp.

You will not incur PHP (Paper Hands Penalty) by playing this game and sending over your iPEFI! Play and claim your rightful place as the Penguin Emperor. Short-term and long-term riches await.

Poison the Emperor ☠️

The “Steal & Poison” feature allows you to poison the current Emperor and prevent them from being on the throne for 10 minutes.

After the poison wears off, that Penguin will be immune for 3 hours. They can be poisoned once again after the cooldown is over.

This is a powerful feature but use it wisely. By poisoning another Penguin and stealing the crown, you’ll pay the normal bid, which is refundable (minus the 2.5% fee). On top of that, you’ll have to pay for the poison which costs: 10 iPEFI (nonrefundable).

Emperor Jackpot 🏆

Once the 96 hours are over, the Penguin who held the throne for the longest time will be crowned as Emperor of all Penguins! This can be tracked on the leaderboard on the left-hand side of the UI.

The winners of this event will share a jackpot full of iPEFI that was collected throughout the event. To check the current jackpot throughout the event, simply click on the shining chest next to the throne.

When you are crowned as the Emperor Penguin, your bet of iPEFI is sent back to the Nest, and you are now able to claim your iPEFI earnings through the “claim” functionality present on the chest! The Top 5 penguins on the leaderboard will claim part of the jackpot with the following distribution:
