Girls Robots Dragons Integrates Chainlink VRF

Published on: 16.06.2022

Girls Robots Dragons has integrated Chainlink VRF to help ensure fair and verifiably random mint.

In Girls Robots Dragons, there are 15 main characters (5 girls, 5 robots, and 5 dragons) in front of two randomly selected layers. There are 3,000 unique Girls Robots Dragons NFTs, with a variety of classes possible for each one. Some lucky holders will be able to redeem extra benefits with their NFTs, such as the ability to collect bonus art, win ETH or merch, get their initial purchase price back, or set up an online meeting with the artists.

As fairness and transparency are a fundamental part of our values, we have integrated Chainlink VRF as a core component of the Girls Robots Dragons NFT minting structure. Chainlink VRF is not only the industry-standard random number generator (RNG) solution but also provides a way for us to definitively prove to our users that the RNG behind the NFT reveal is truly random and can not be manipulated.

Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Girls Robots Dragons smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides our users with automated and verifiable assurances directly on-chain that the NFT mint using Chainlink VRF is provably random, fair, and was not tampered with by the oracle, outside entities, or the Girls Robots Dragons team.

About Chainlink

Chainlink is the industry standard for building, accessing, and selling oracle services needed to power hybrid smart contracts on any blockchain. Chainlink oracle networks provide smart contracts with a way to reliably connect to any external API and leverage secure off-chain computations for enabling feature-rich applications. Chainlink currently secures tens of billions of dollars across DeFi, insurance, gaming, and other major industries, and offers global enterprises and leading data providers a universal gateway to all blockchains.
