Forest Knight and Chainlink Integration
Forest Knight has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) and Chainlink Keepers on Polygon mainnet to help them meet its goal of full transparency.

They can automate the reward distribution reliably and transparently using Chainlink Keepers, which gives us more time to invent even better experiences for its players.
How Do Chainlink Keepers Work?
Chainlink Keepers enabled us to quickly automate and conditionally execute smart contract functions using the decentralized Keepers Network. They don’t have to build and maintain our centralized stack for automation, saving us time and money. The network has built-in redundancy and is highly reliable and performant.
The result? Automatic reward distributions to the DAO with high assurances of reliability, security, and decentralized execution.
NFT Merging and Randomness
One unique feature within Forest Knight is NFT merging. This feature enables players to randomly generate unique, never-seen-before NFTs by combining existing NFTs. To ensure that the process is truly random, we need to provide auditable and transparent processes that anyone can verify. Forest Knight has been trying to find a solution to this issue for a very long time. There’s always the option of hiding the random number generator in the back end of our servers, but this is far from transparent.
How Does Chainlink VRF Work?
Chainlink VRF provides a verifiable random number generator. How? When a new request for NFT merging is processed, Chainlink VRF creates a random cryptographic-based number and proof. This number and proof determine the outcome, and the proof generated is then verified and published on-chain before it gets utilized by other applications.
The cryptographic proof must be legitimate for the Forest Knight to accept the input of a random number, and this is only possible if the VRF procedure is tamper-proof. The process gives consumers automated and verifiable guarantees that the newly merged NFT is created uniquely and not manipulated by the oracle, outside parties, or the Forest Knight team directly on-chain.
