Social GameFi by MetaGods
MetaGods discusses GameFi and how MetaGods is evolving the term into Social GameFi.
MetaGods has recognized that one of the key components of gaming culture is playing with friends. The play-to-earn mechanics of any GameFi platform should encourage guild formation and clan building. Otherwise, players can end up adverse at playing together if they always have to go alone.
As an action RPG, the best way to progress in MetaGods is by teaming up with a variety of characters with different skills. This is where Squads of demigods are formed, where different characters specialize in particular roles to maximize the potential of the party.
This group design has always been part of MMORPGs, but it has never been implemented in GameFi. In MetaGods, successful parties are able to earn more APY than going solo. This encourages squad formation, cooperation, and diverse character creation suited for diverse roles and dungeons.
MetaGods has called this approach Social GameFi. It not only emphasizes the play-to-earn aspect of traditional GameFi, but also uses the monetary incentives to encourage parties of players. These squads are able to complete challenges fast, acquire better gear, and level up quicker. For these reasons, they also earn a higher APY.
Individual players will quickly understand that the optimal earning strategy is to join a squad. In this way, the play-to-earn mechanics are leveraged to foster social engagement that results in a large, engaged community that can organize to tackle challenging PvE events and boss raids, as well as PvP fights and tournaments.
