Genopets is the world’s first Free-to-Play, Move-to-Earn NFT game on Solana that makes it delighting and rewarding to live an active lifestyle.
Genopets combines users’ step data from their mobile device with blockchain Play-to-Earn economics so players can gain crypto for taking action in real life as they explore the Genoverse evolving and battling their Genopet.
Play-to-Earn games have taken the crypto space by storm in recent months with titles like Axie Infinity becoming a viable source of living wages in developing countries. Genopets elevates this with the integration of movement data to encourage an active lifestyle while allowing players to earn XP in-game.
Genopets has implemented a dual-earning economy, affording players free-to-play opportunities in addition to pay-to-play options.
WIth their free-to-play economy, players can earn income from sales of their Genopet NFTs. With pay-to-play, players earn income from sales of NFTs, by earning $KI for daily activity and selling in-game items.
Tokenomics
The Genoverse comes with two tokens used by the platform:
- $GENE: A fungible governance and staking token. $GENE holders vote on the future of gameplay and can stake their tokens to earn rewards.
- $KI: A fungible in-game reward token that is earned by purchasing a Habitat in the Genoverse. $KI is used for Genopet evolutions, Habitat building, and battling.
The Genoverse is also comprised of several non-fungible tokens (NFTs):
- Genopets can be evolved and upgraded in the game. It is free to mint a Genopet, ensuring that the game remains accessible to a large audience of players, and the NFTs increase in value as they are upgraded and gain XP.
- Refined Crystals are NFTs that are crafted in-game through a Habitat Lab. They are used to modify your Genopets.
- Habitats are where Genopets live and are evolved. They can be purchased with $GENE, $KI, and Crystals. With a Habitat, players can craft Crystals and earn $KI.
