Bitcoin Miners To Vote The Implementation Of Taproot Upgrade

Published on: 03.05.2021

Bitcoin’s largest upgrade is currently being voted for implementation.

Four years since the largest cryptocurrency implemented Segregated Witness (Segwit), it is now on the process of another major upgrade.

The Taproot upgrade is a Bitcoin soft fork that integrates Schnorr cryptographic signatures, an alternative signature method to the ECDSA currently implemented on the network.

Once Taproot is implemented, bitcoin will be more scalable, faster and cheaper.

Following the traditional rules, miners need to adopt the new consensus rules by a certain period of time.

Users can see the process in the website of taproot watch to check on the signals.
