Its initial integration involves the use of the following Chainlink Price Feeds: Matic/USD. They chose Chainlink as their go-to oracle solution because its infrastructure is seamless to integrate and time-tested in production. Chainlink already helps secure leading DeFi protocols responsible for tens of billions of dollars in smart contract value, maintaining robust security and high availability even amidst unexpected events, such as exchange downtime, flash crashes, and data manipulation attacks via flash loans.

Helping Secure On-chain Lucky Draw Games With Chainlink VRF

Mighty Llama’s primary focus is to create games and fun experiments for its users and community. One of the ways that they accomplish this goal is by enabling Mighty Llama NFT holders to earn native tokens and in-game digital items through lucky draw games.

The platform desires a technical implementation to create an on-chain decentralizes raffle on a consistent basis. Automatically, it selects a random tokenID as the winner.

However, when attempting to bring this vision to reality, its team found it was harder than initially thought to find a secure random number generator until it found Chainlink VRF.

Chainlink VRF

Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown. When the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-commits private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof.

The Mighty Llama smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has valid cryptographic proof. The cryptographic proof generates if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This helps provide users with automated and publicly verifiable proof directly on-chain that the winner selection process. It is provably fair, no tampers with or predicts by the oracle, outside entities, or the Mighty Llama team.

Chainlink Automation ensures transactions identifies and confirms quickly even during periods of heavy network congestion by leveraging Chainlink’s battle-tested transaction manager.
