JunkYard Dogs x Chainlink VRF Integration
JunkYard Dogs — an animated collection of dog NFTs — has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on Polygon mainnet.
With Chainlink VRF, Supply Boxes sold by the Junkyard Merchant now have access to a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness needed to fairly distribute different tiers of SCRAP to users. Ultimately this creates a more exciting, transparent, and fraud-proof user experience, where each user has an equal opportunity to purchase the rarest and most desirable SCRAP.
SCRAPs (metal, not food) are NFT tokens rewarded to JYD holders who have delisted dogs. Each piece of SCRAP will start off as TIER 1 (basic) pieces. When the holder collects 4x pieces of TIER 1 SCRAP (yellow aura), they can burn and refine them into 1x TIER 2 SCRAP (ice blue aura). A user can burn and refine 4x TIER 2 SCRAPs to yield a single TIER 3 SCRAP (purple aura). When users collect enough TIER 3 SCRAPs, they can refine them a final time to create rare, custom NFTs, starting with the elusive K-9000, which will consist of 5 body parts.
