IndiGG partners with Fancy Birds, purchases 100 genesis bird NFTs
IndiGG has officially entered into a partnership with the mobile play-to-earn game, Fancy Birds. The game is produced by Fancy Games DAO, a decentralised mobile game studio spearheading the casual mini-game market with play-to-earn titles.
For those of you who may recall the smash hit mobile game “Flappy Birds” you’ll probably be familiar with this game’s mechanics.
As part of this partnership, IndiGG will be purchasing 100 genesis bird NFTs to provide scholarships for our community.
What is Fancy Birds and how do you play?
A total of 8,888 genesis Fancy Bird NFTs exist, each possessing its own unique traits. Players earn $FNC token by completing daily missions that may require them to fly for a certain time or collect a number of points. The $FNC token has governance utility and is the main way players are rewarded in the game.
At this time the game requires players to own a genesis Fancy Bird in order to play but has discussed plans to bring a free-to-play mode in the future. By acquiring these genesis NFTs we’ll be able to provide scholarships allowing scholars access to start earning $FNC tokens.
Owners of Fancy Bird NFTs can also breed them, mixing their traits together to create a new “offspring” that is also playable in the game. The bred birds in newer generations come with a limited amount of times they can breed, while genesis birds have a much higher capacity.
What to expect from the IndiGG x Fancy Birds partnership
Through this partnership with Fancy Birds, IndiGG will be expanding our line of not only game scholarships but also genres. Mobile gamers will not be excluded from play-to-earn opportunities now with this addition.
The design of their game appeals to those looking for earning opportunities in less competitive games with straightforward mechanics. This is great for scholars who may only have time to play in their spare time or mainly game on their phones.
Fancy Birds has already attracted investors including Kain Warwick from Synthetix, Stani Kulechov from Aave, and 0xmaki from Sushi. We’re happy to join this list of those who see the potential in this game.
Our guild is looking forward to working with Fancy Birds and getting scholars onboarded into their game!
