MetaLeague Integrates Chainlink VRF
MetaLeague — the NFT Football Manager game — has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on Polygon mainnet. By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, Metaleague now have access to a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness needed to randomly generate the level of the League for each Football Club in the game, where the players can compete with other Managers.

MetaLeague is a football-inspired universe where you can own a football Club with unique players, manage the strategy and tactics, and build the best team in the blockchain-based game. You can be the Club manager and the owner of a unique MetaLeague NFT Club with unique NFT players.
Users can take part in the League and compete to reach the highest rankings of the game. In the first League organization, MetaLeague currently has 4 different levels (or divisions), similar to the English football league pyramid system. In each division there is a specific number of championships, with 20 clubs for each one:
- 20 Clubs in Division 1 unique championship
- 40 in Division 2 (with 2 championships)
- 80 in Division 3 (with 4 championships)
- 160 for Division 4 (with 8 championships)
Every MetaLeague player is a randomly generated NFT, with billions of different combinations. They have various skills and characteristics like role, nationality, age, height, and more.
Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The MetaLeague smart contract only accepts the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides our users with automated and verifiable assurances directly on-chain that MetaLeague is provably fair and was not tampered with by the oracle, outside entities, or the MetaLeague team.
