IQ Protocol, a decentralized money market for digital asset renting and on-chain subscriptions is delighted to welcome DarleyGo to its ecosystem!
DarleyGo is a recent winner in the Solana Ignition Hackathon, DarleyGo is an NFT horse racing, Play-to-Earn game based on Solana. The game is full of lore: set on a mythical planet, home to a variety of powerful horse tribes. Players can train, race, breed, and collect NFT horses. These NFTs are used by players to compete against others, in tournaments large and small. The results of the races have a direct impact on the stats of a player’s horse. But it is also possible to train one’s horse in advance of a competition.
DarleyGo provides an imaginative world, where players can customize their horses and equipment. The in-game assets extend beyond the animal and will include items such as virtual stables, virtual paddocks, specialized feed, stable managers, unlockable worlds, and many other assets. And, since players are able to breed their own horses, understanding the particularities of all these assets will play a crucial role in their horse’s path towards becoming the titled victor, the “Horse-Above-All-Horses.”
IQ Protocol + DarleyGo
IQ Protocol will serve as a foundation in DarleyGO’s NFT rental marketplace. A core feature of IQ Protocol’s platform is the ability to create wrapped, expirable versions of digital assets, which can be used as the basis for a variety of solutions. Among these uses is the ability to lend and rent NFTs in a risk-free way.
Thanks to IQ Protocol, players of DarleyGo will be able to do more than simply trade or sell their horses (or other in-game assets) that they are not currently using. Now, they will be able to retain their assets and make passive income while allowing other players to gain their unique benefits. Another player may desire, for instance, to try out the effects of a different stable, manager, or the like (perhaps this new combination will give their horse the edge it needs!). Yet, they may not want to purchase the items flat out. No problem!
IQ Protocol provides the infrastructure for one player to rent out their NFTs to other players for a pre-arranged amount of time and for an agreed-upon price, thus benefiting both parties involved. Where stakers and lenders gain interest or income on their assets, renters gain access to whatever utility the asset represents, thereby bringing to life the use cases the assets empower.
IQ Protocol said their NFT renting model was risk-free. How does that work?
IQ Protocol’s model for NFT lending and borrowing is built to be risk-free. Typical modes of lending an asset put the lender at risk, say if the borrower loses hold of the asset (for whatever reason). With IQ Protocol, such risks are not a concern. Instead of giving the original asset to the borrower, IQ Protocol mints an expirable version of the NFT (which contains all of the unique features of the original). This NFT is then given to the borrower. Our platform guarantees that the original NFT is always safe and can be returned to the owner after the agreed-upon rental contract has expired. Now, players can rest easy renting out the items that they aren’t currently using, providing a source of passive income without having to sell their favorite assets.
