AvaDice Integration with Chainlink VRF, By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, they now have access to a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness needed to reliably flip and spin dice in a variety of games. Ultimately this creates a more exciting and transparent user experience, as users now can independently verify the randomness underpinning AvaDice’s games is unpredictable.
For enhanced transparency between the project and its users, they needed access to a secure random number generator (RNG) that any user could independently audit. However, RNG solutions for smart contracts require several security considerations to prevent manipulation and ensure system integrity.
With the pre-committed private key of the oracle node, Chainlink VRF creates a random number and a cryptographic proof simultaneously.
It is only possible to create a valid cryptographic proof for the AvaDice smart contract using a tamper-resistant VRF process. Chainlink VRF ensures that Oracle, third parties, and AvaDice team members cannot tamper with games.
