Synapse Network Next IDO Project: 3air

Synapse Network has announced its next IDO Project: 3Air, a blockchain-based startup that aims at serving African communities with broadband internet connection and multiple digital services.

Overview

The 3air team manages to bring a layer of community, and humanity to a previously very market-focused environment, thanks to their brilliant foundation of infrastructure building combined with the potential of DeFi and Web3 integrations.

Following their research, 3air discovered that the latest data released by the World Bank shows that less than a third of the population in Africa has access to commonly found broadband internet solutions, leaving them with a huge well of untapped resources.

As such, while people across the world become more interconnected than ever, millions of Africans continue to lack adequate internet connection — hindering their access to life-changing opportunities across the globe, like remote working opportunities, research papers, education, or, case on point, the wide and diverse world of DeFi investments.

The Covid-19 pandemic has also accelerated our collective dependence on the internet as millions now study and work remotely, needing constant personal internet access to function effectively in a new accelerated digital society.

Not only does the absence of proper internet infrastructure exacerbate the under-development problems of third-world countries, but it also has nefarious effects on the education of young and old alike.

Young students lacking internet access are usually left behind and oftentimes are found to be unable to perform satisfactorily in their studies, while active members of society are unable to properly expand their knowledge and climb up the work ladder.

The same is also true when it comes to the well-being of communities, as the internet broadens communication channels and offers access to healthcare, financial services, entertainment, and basic goods that may otherwise be unavailable.

3air aims to solve this problem, by providing affordable, high-speed broadband to Sub-Saharan African cities, while simultaneously enabling users to thrive in the Web3 environment through education, infrastructure and skill development integrations directly available on the 3air platform.

While the humanitarian background of the project may seem particular to many members of the DeFi community, we saw many parallels with Starlink and its ease of access, and we are aware of the huge investments made in Africa by many eastern supergiants, giving us additional layers of security in the 3air ecosystem.

When they look at 3air they see fellow visionaries, and a team that shares their own vision, that simply decided to start working on it in a different way.

Their presence in the birthplace of humanity will for sure be felt, and their platform will be able to shake up a market that is yet full of untapped potential.

How does the investment process look like?

There are two options for this:

– having tickets for the platform (guaranteed allocation).

– winning the Gleam competition, which is open to everyone. Here 10% of the investment pool is allocated for the winners. There is no overallocation here — it is reserved for our stakers.

For both options you need to pass the KYC process.
