SpiderDAO Has Partnered With KILT Protocol
SpiderDAO has partnered with KILT Protocol to integrate into SpiderDAO’s range of routers.
KILT is a decentralized blockchain protocol for issuing self-sovereign, anonymous verifiable credentials. KILT provides a way to represent your identity without revealing things you prefer to keep private. KILT brings the old process of trust in real-world verifiable credentials (passport, driving license) to the digital world, while keeping your data private and in your possession.
KILT can also be used for machine identity to create identifiers for machines, services and anything that identities can be built on — such as routers. SpiderDAO’s developers will be working closely with BOTLabs GmbH to enable integration of DIDs into the firmware of their military-grade VPN routers. The combination of a world-class VPN router and a fully decentralized way of issuing, holding and verifying credentials, all in one piece of hardware, will create a powerful tool for consumer protection and privacy. This integration will also combat identity theft and loss of control of personal data.
About BOTLabs GmbH
BOTLabs GmbH is a Berlin-based research and development company focusing on blockchain. It was founded in January 2018 by Ingo Rübe and German publishing house Burda GmbH, for whom he served as CTO from 2012 to 2017; Swiss publisher Ringier AG later joined as a shareholder. BOTLabs is the initial developer of KILT Protocol, now a decentralized blockchain network. The SocialKYC identity verification service, Sporran wallet and Stakeboard platform were developed by a subsidiary of BOTLabs called B.T.E. BOTLabs Trusted Entity GmbH. BOTLabs is a founding member of the International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA) and a member of the Decentralized Identity Foundation (DIF) and Blockchain for Europe.
About KILT Protocol
KILT is a decentralized blockchain identity protocol for issuing self-sovereign, anonymous and verifiable credentials. KILT’s mission is to return control over personal data to its owner, restoring privacy to the individual. Developers can use KILT’s open-source Javascript SDK to quickly build applications for issuing, holding and verifying credentials and create businesses around identity and privacy. KILT Protocol was initially developed by BOTLabs GmbH.
About SpiderDAO
SpiderVPN provides a decentralized router-based VPN service for its users by using a dual-governance model which brings together hardware and software tools with on-chain elements. The team aims to build a new set of standards for Decentralized Autonomous Organisations to counteract the unfair distribution of voting power. Combining hardware safeguards and leveraging the Polkadot consensus mechanism, SpiderDAO establishes a whale-resistant mechanism whilst creating a highly scalable, interoperable and stable governance system.
