Cosmos And Polkadot Will Be Connected Through Astar Network And Octopus Network

Astar Network and Octopus Network to connect Cosmos and Polkadot.

Astar Network aims to be a multichain, multi-VM smart contract hub on Polkadot that connects multiple L1 blockchains.

Octopus Network is a grant recipient in the Astar Builders Program. The Astar core team and Octopus team have worked together to make Polkadot and Cosmos interoperable. Astar plan to deliver a production-ready bridge between Polkadot and Cosmos in Q1, 2022.

Astar Network has already implemented a testnet bridge with Secret Network, a Cosmos SDK-based blockchain. However, this testnet bridge is EVM-based, meaning that only blockchains supporting both EVM and Cosmos SDK are compatible with this testnet bridge.

As major technical achievement, the Octopus team is building a more versatile bridge on top of Astar Network, allowing ALL Cosmos SDK-based blockchains to interact with Astar and connect with the Polkadot ecosystem through Astar.
