Moonriver Network Has Announced The Moonriver Grant Hackathon
Moonriver Network announced the Moonriver Grant Hackathon. Starting March 23rd, the Moonbeam Foundation, with DoraHacks and Huobi Incubator, opened the Moonriver Virtual Hackathon.
Moonriver is the fully Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform on Kusama. This compatibility makes deploying new or existing Solidity DApps quick and easy. The hackathon is an opportunity to get your feet wet in this new ecosystem and start developing with workshops, live support, and prizes.
Participating projects must deploy to Moonriver or the Moonbase Alpha TestNet. From there, the sky is the limit. Builders can submit for a variety of bounties totaling $100,000 in prizes. Whether or not a specific bounty is selected, all participants are eligible for a share of the people’s choice matching pool of $50,000 distributed via DoraHack’s quadratic funding mechanism. In addition, there are two open-ended Moonshot bounties for any new project outside the bounds of the other bounties worth $10,000 each.
This hackathon is focused on innovating the Web3 space. The Huobi Incubator Best Overall Projects will be judged based on creativity, quality of technical solution, and user experience. The top three projects in this category will receive $10 000, $7500, and $4,000 respectively.
About Moonbeam
Moonbeam is an Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform on the Polkadot network that makes it easy to build natively interoperable applications. This Ethereum compatibility allows developers to deploy existing Solidity smart contracts and DApp frontends to Moonbeam with minimal changes. As a parachain on the Polkadot network, Moonbeam will benefit from the shared security of the Polkadot relay chain and integrations with other chains that are connected to Polkadot.
