Mango and Solrise Integration

Published on: 16.04.2022

Mango has successfully been integrated into Solrise Finance and is live on Solana mainnet! Fund managers are now able to go long and short on a growing list of assets using an intuitive trading interface.

Along with big feature updates like non-custodial leverage trading and advanced order types, this release includes improvements in the onboarding experience for both managers and investors as well as a completely new trading interface.

The impact that this integration can have on non-custodial fund management is explored in this article as they believe it’s a crucial step for them and is directly Solrise’s vision of permissionless, democratized finance.

New Features

  • New Trading Interface
  • Leverage Trading
  • New Order Types
  • Trading History

Users can now create a Mango account within their fund and deposit USDC collateral from their fund’s spot account to take on up to two cross-margined positions. As long as there is ample liquidity, new assets will be added to Solrise when they are added to Mango. In order to ensure low slippage and safe trading, the Solrise x Mango asset offering will start off with SOLETHBTCLUNAAVAX, and BNB perps.

New Trading Interface

To accommodate the powerful new features being implemented, they decided to rebuild their entire trading interface. You can take advantage of simplified account interactions, TradingView’s powerful charting tools, and more.

Leverage Trading & Estimated Liquidation Price

Mango’s on-chain leverage capability is seamlessly communicated through our new Leverage Slider that lets you easily and quickly adjust your leverage. They also go one step further and display a calculation for the estimated liquidation price before you complete your order.

Leverage trading not only allows managers to speculate with conviction, it also allows them to hedge their bets and perform more complex trades.

The amount of leverage differs per asset and is detailed below.

SOL, ETH, BTC

  • Up to 20x Leverage

LUNA, AVAX, BNB

  • Up to 10x Leverage

5 New Order Types

Previously, fund managers were confined to transacting with market orders on spot assets only through Raydium or Serum. Now, they have the ability to place market and limit orders as well as take-profit and stop-loss orders using Mango.

All the new orders are listed below:

  • Limit Orders
  • Stop-Loss Market Orders
  • Stop-Loss Limit Orders
  • Take-Profit Market Orders
  • Take-Profit Limit Orders

Having access to limit orders is important for managers because it allows them to reduce their slippage costs and avoid taker fees. There are 0 maker fees when setting limit orders.

Having access to these more advanced stop-loss and take-profit orders are even more important because it lets managers execute their strategies in granular detail.

For example, combining a take-profit and stop-loss order would build a safe bracket around a position and remove the need for a manager to keep their eyes glued to the screen 24/7 while still maintaining a limited downside and a price target.

Trading History

When trading at a centralized exchange, you usually have access to easy-to-understand trading history. When trading on a blockchain, most platforms don’t offer that luxury.

Solrise is following suit with its partner product, Solflare Wallet, by introducing a very clear and human-readable trading history. You can now look back on your on-chain trading activity and immediately understand the details of each transaction.

All of these features and enhancements open up a world of opportunities for Solrise fund managers. If the market goes up, down, or sideways, managers now have the ability to curate profitable strategies that capture value for their investors.

About Solrise

Solrise is a decentralized, trust-minimized investment fund on Solana, the only protocol that has also built a non-custodial wallet and vice versa. The synergy between these two products is obvious. In the near future, Solrise funds will be directly exposed to Solflare’s huge user base and Solflare users will have the ability to invest in Solrise funds with one click directly from the app.
