MetaDerby is a free-to-play-and-earn NFT horse racing game built on the Avalanche blockchain. How Does MetaDerby Work?

MetaDerby racehorses are NFTs with four Genotypes: BloodLine, Acceleration (Gene X), Aggressiveness (Gene Y), and Sprint Speed (Gene Z). Each genotype reflects its natural qualities and will come into play during horse races.

Racing is limited to 12 horses. Racehorses may breed foals for MetaDerby and other NFT markets. Like many Play-To-Earn games, MetaDerby runs on a dual-token system.
The Derby ($DBY) token is used for governance and purchasing of lands in the Metaverse.

Metaderby New Social Race Mode known as “Social Racing” gives you the ability to organize your own competitions. You now have the ability to compete against your friends and earn their $HOOF!

In order to fulfill this need, Metaderby set out to design a game mode in which players may compete against one another in a multiplayer setting. challenge your friends to some intense competition, and you may walk away with some $HOOF prizes.

Here’s how it works:

Settings Customization:

Room name: Choose your room name so your friends can easily identify your room! Don’t have a name in mind? Click random and they generate one for you.

Room password: Don’t want random strangers in your room? Set a 4 digit password and share them with your friends so only they can join you. You can also leave the password empty and pit your horse against the wild horses out there!

Horse levels: You can restrict certain levels of horses to join your room or allow all levels of horses to join.

Starting time: Select the starting time of the race from the available selection in 10/30/60/180 mins. The race will start once the countdown ends.

Entry fee: Customize the $HOOF entry fee from 10–10,000 $HOOF. The prize pool will be the total entry fee of all participants. Rewards breakdown is as indicated

Tournament Frequency: One tournament per week, with each race consisting of 12 horses

Bet Time: Thursday 00:00 — Friday 11:00

Race Time: Friday 12:00 — Friday 12:02

Fees: No entry fees for participants.

Eligibility

Participants must fulfill all of the following requirements in order to be eligible to participate in the tournament:

1. Participate in at least 40 Open Races in the previous week
2. Share race results at least 5 times on Twitter (Note: you will need to finish Top 6 at each race)
3. Horse Class must be Class I or Class II as of the previous week
4. Only one horse per wallet may participate in the Weekly Tournament each week
5. Horses that have been transferred within 7 days are ineligible for competing in the Weekly Tournament of that same week

Claiming Rewards

To claim your Weekly Tournament rewards, visit the race results page and share your race results on both Twitter and Discord. Players will receive rewards upon sharing

They will notify individuals who are qualified to participate in the competition on the official MetaDerby website and provide them a badge to show it. Congratulations if you saw the notification! If you participated in the competition, you have already earned at least 100 Hoof. Additionally, during the interval between tournament racing and registration, the top three winners in the competition will be shown.

What is GameFi / Play-to-Earn?

MetaDerby got off the races in March of this year, closing a seed round in which the Avalanche Foundation’s Blizzard Fund participated. A few weeks later, the project’s $DBY governance token IDO debuted on Avalaunch. MetaDerby’s beta came out in May.

Game Features

In MetaDerby, participants race their Starter Horses or Racehorse NFTs for $HOOF, a native token. The game’s racing tracks and music seek to recreate the intensity and immersion of a live race.
