Using Wormhole, you can replace your pubkey with.sol on any supported chain (s). In simpler terms, the usability of your domain extends to other chains. You can use your natively obtained Solana domain on “xyz” just as you do now.

Why go cross-chain?

Their main priority is to broaden the reach of SNS across different ecosystems and increase its utility.  Bonfida sees a future where.sol domains will be more than just a domain and will eventually serve as a digital passport.

How can users Configure and use my .sol email on Skiff?

Configuration

Skiff handles all of the work for you. There are two options here:

When creating a new account, select the Phantom wallet option and proceed with the sign-up process.

If you already have an account, go to Skiff’s alias settings page and link your Phantom wallet. Then, your.sol domain will be auto-displayed and available for sending and receiving emails to and from your mailbox through @solana.email.

NOTE:

• Email addresses using emoji domains may not be compatible with standard email providers such as Gmail.
• To designate your preferred.sol to Skiff, go to https://naming.bonfida.org/ and choose your chosen domain.
• Skiff email providers will not accept NFT Solana Domains. You would have to first unwrap your domain.
• When you transfer or sell one of your domains, emails are send to the new address that owns the associated name. In this way, you may keep your email private and E2E encrypted.

Through this partnership of Bonfida and 4EVERLAND, users can now use the Solana Name Service to host their IPFS websites.

Excitingly, 4EVERLAND has now integrated the Solana Name Service (SNS) to provide users with a one-stop SNS + IPFS website hosting service.

4EVERLAND built over the past couple of months:

•  Cross-chain support for Phantom login on Solana

4EVERLAND first launched on Ethereum and has integrated the Ethereum Name Service to help users deploy websites and use ENS for hosting. Now, 4EVERLAND is expanding into the Solana ecosystem and has integrated Phantom’s native wallet for log-in purposes.

• IPFS + IPNS hosting service

4EVERLAND has acquired a DNS domain 4sol.xyz to resolve SNS. As we know, .sol domain names are normally inaccessible from DNS. However, through this integration, users can append 4sol.xyz to their .sol domain names, making it accessible by traditional web2 browsers like Google Chrome. For example, if you own “alice.sol”, after deploying your IPFS website and associating the content hash with your domain, you can directly access it in the Chrome browser by visiting “alice.4sol.xyz”.

If you deploy your websites via 4EVERLAND’s platform, you will enjoy the global accelerated access service provided solely by them. However, if you associate your CID with your SNS via other platforms, you can still append your 4sol.xyz to your .sol domain name, but you can only access it via the IPFS public gateway “ipfs.io” — which can be slower compared to 4EVERLAND’s private gateway.
