Straight Fire Integrates Chainlink VRF on the Polygon mainnet.

Published on: 15.10.2021

Straight Fire NFT player has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on the Polygon mainnet.

By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, they now have access to the tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness needed to show their users clear on-chain evidence that the randomness underpinning the distribution and characteristics of the dynamic NFTs was generated in a manner that is provably fair and unbiased. Ultimately this creates a more exciting, transparent, and fraud-proof user experience, as users can participate in our NFT blind drops, receive randomized membership cards and rewards, and truly experience the uncertainty and unpredictability of our dynamic NFT collections.

The Straight Fire NFT player allows users to view all their NFTs in one place, irrespective of which blockchain they were minted on. It also enables them to share their NFT stories on their favourite social media channels, connect the virtual and physical world through AR, and list and sell NFTs on their preferred third-party NFT marketplace. Additionally, users can browse creator spaces, discuss their favourite NFTs within our community areas, and list, buy, and sell their NFTs on the in-player marketplace.

The Straight Fire NFT Studio helps creators to develop original NFT collections and turn these into valuable IPs. As an NFT publisher, we advise creators on how to build NFT collections and series, offer marketing support and gas-free minting, enable fractional trading, and offer a dedicated creator space in our in-player marketplace.

Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Straight Fire smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides their users with automated and verifiable assurances directly on-chain that the Straight Fire NFT collections are generated in a provably fair way and were not tampered with by the oracle, outside entities, or the team.

“Randomness is a key driver to maximize the value of NFTs. However, accessing a secure and tamperproof source of randomness on-chain can be difficult as they can be subject to miner frontrunning, and off-chain randomness solutions are often opaque and require trust in an off-chain data provider. And above all, as NFTs grow in value, users have the right to see the proof. Chainlink offers us and our users all this through VRF.”
