About Aradena
Aradena is a medieval fantasy metaverse including Aradena: Battlegrounds, the first play-and-earn, a miniature strategy game on the blockchain. Incubated by Seedify Fund since August 2021, Aradena: Battlegrounds is an immersive, turn-based Play-and-Earn strategy game on a hexagonal layout battlefield where players build and train their army of NFTs and battle other players in complex strategic gameplay. Players are rewarded with loot chests that contain variable rewards based on their performance in battle, including tokens and NFT collectibles which can be sold/traded in the in-house marketplace, or added to a player’s army within the barracks.
The long-term plans are to integrate the battle system of Aradena: Battlegrounds into Aradena: Kingdoms. This will introduce land-based strategic gameplay and a diplomacy system, whereby players can battle and raid, build on their land, mine for resources, craft new NFT assets, and more. The long-term vision is to build exciting, strategic gameplay within a virtual medieval fantasy world where people can earn from their own Kingdom by doing whatever they love, whether that’s battling, raiding, trading, training, loaning, building, brokering, or something else.
To enter the world of Aradena, and access all features including Play-to-Earn gameplay, you require at least one warrior NFT from either the Warriors of Aradena or Women of Aradena collections. All warriors are within one of three classes — mighty, heroic, and legendary — and all are made up of seven different properties which contribute towards the overall stats of the warrior. These are eyes, mouth, headwear, armor, front item, weapon, and background. A warrior front item will also have unique effects that can help turn the tides of battle if used wisely. All warriors are currently available for purchase through OpenSea using ETH. You can use the Tavern for unique filtering and searching mechanisms to find yourself the perfect warrior. The Tavern will later serve as the in-house marketplace to buy warriors as well as all other Aradena NFTs using Aradenean Gold.
In Aradena: Battlegrounds, several key dynamics facilitate complex strategic gameplay, including action points, special actions, traits and spells, unique environment aspects, and many modifiers including unit and rotational modifiers. Players can also create unlimited different army load outs using an army costing system in the Barracks, meaning that key strategic decisions must be made before the battle even begins.
Default armies contain warriors, units, and special action items. Players will move their units around the battlefield dealing damage to their opponent. Special actions can be used to affect the game in other unique ways.
The gameplay will revolve around two game modes:
— PvP — Player vs Player
PvP is the primary game mode in battlegrounds. Initially, all PvP games will be 1v1 matches with the victory condition to eliminate the opponent commanding warrior, as described above. Future game modes will be released later on with new victory conditions like capture the flag.
PvP matches will be ranked and implement an ELO matchmaking system. Higher ranked games will have better potential rewards.
— PvE — Player vs Environment
PvE will allow players to play against an AI opponent within a practice mode. This mode will also be available for players who do not own any Aradena NFTs and will create exposure to traditional gamers who are interested in Web3 games.
Within Aradena, players can also mint new warrior NFTs via Recruitment, upgrade warriors via Training, and loan warriors as Mercenaries.
Later on, Aradena will introduce a variety of features to encourage competitive gaming and promote the game to the esports and streaming sectors to appeal to web2 gamers. It will have overall leaderboards based on a player renown system, as well as competitive world championship tournaments for both factions and individual players.
Aradena will operate a dual-token tokenomics model. Aradenean Gold (AG) is the governance token, and Aradenean Silver (AS) is the in-game rewards token. Both tokens will be required throughout various in-game actions, and owning AG will allow players to earn AS more efficiently because the AG token will offer perks through staking and other features. This incentivizes holding AG tokens and helps drive the token’s value. Aradena’s IDO will launch on Seedify in Q2 2022.
