Polygon Community Grants Program Launches Season 2
Polygon Labs has kicked off Season 2 of its Community Grants Program (CGP) with a stunning $35 million in POL grants, aiming to foster groundbreaking innovation in Web3 and AI. This new phase of the program promises to offer more resources, broader categories, and more decentralized decision-making to help builders realize their vision.
A Bigger and Bolder Season
In its inaugural season, the CGP awarded over 18 million POL across 120 projects, receiving more than 1,000 applications. Season 2, however, takes a giant leap forward, with the Community Treasury Board significantly expanding the funding pool. Independent Grant Allocators (GAs), including Eliza Labs (ai16z), Crossmint, IoTeX, Thrive, and Gitcoin, will allocate grants, focusing on key themes like AI, decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN), and memecoins. These GAs will distribute a substantial 15 million POL across their areas of focus, ensuring that the most innovative and impactful projects receive support.
Three Exciting Themes to Watch
If you’re working at the intersection of AI and Web3, or experimenting with memecoins, this is your chance to make a big impact. The three main themes for Season 2 include:
- AI agents, applications, and infrastructure – for projects merging AI with blockchain technology.
- DePIN – decentralized networks focused on physical infrastructure.
- Memecoins – projects centered around fun and viral token economies.
These tracks offer a unique opportunity for builders, as GAs bring their industry expertise to identify and fund emerging talent. Additionally, the “Direct Track” provides up to 20 million POL for high-quality projects that don’t fit neatly into these themes, offering flexibility for innovative ideas that push the ecosystem forward.
Open for All Builders
Whether you’re already part of Polygon’s ecosystem or planning to migrate from another chain, this program is designed to support ambitious builders who are ready to scale. Applications are open until April 15, 2025, and submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Beyond funding, the program offers dedicated resources, community support, and opportunities for real-time feedback, giving founders everything they need to succeed. Don’t miss your chance to apply and take your project to the next level!
