Harmony Released Update For June 2021

It has been yet another busy month of milestones, partnerships and developments. A few of the accomplishments from the past month include:

SushiSwap is deploying their full suite of products and services on Harmony. SushiSwap (which accounts for around 15% of all DEX volume in the market) will be deploying its automatic market making (AMM) exchange as well as Kashi lending, BentoBox vaults, xSushi staking on Harmony and run an Onsen yield farming campaign.
Hashkey will provide up to $10M USD in liquidity to Harmony’s growing DeFi ecosystem and investment in DeFi applications built within the Harmony ecosystem.
Upgrade to the Harmony Explorer went live this month. A tutorial has gone up on YouTube and the new explorer is currently located at beta.explorer.harmony.one, but will be migrating soon to the main explorer url.
Harmony Turns 2! In conjunction with the 2nd anniversary of the mainnet launch of Harmony, their founders (Stephen, Sahil and RJ) sat down and discussed their journey and their vision.

Community Updates

This last month has provided several updates to how the community can be directly involved and have a more transparent view into the Harmony project.

Status.harmony.one launched. As Harmony has grown, we have received more and more attention across the board. While most of it has been positive, we have also been the subject of some bad actors. To help the whole community maintain a close eye on the health and well-being of the network, we have launched Status.Harmony.One to help monitor various technical aspects of the network.

Validator DAO has its Council. They congratulate JCR.one, SlugomCrypto, Maffaz.one, Mars Initiative and StrongMindsHold on their election to the DAO Council. StongMindsHold has stepped away from the council for personal reasons. They offer him their support and look forward to seeing his work with the validators continue as his time permits.

Community DAO has its Council. Fresh off the results of the election, the Community DAO also has its first Council. They welcome Bricktop One, Gyan aka BelievioN, GlobeyNFT, Colin (OG_Lemurman), and SirSapient to the Community DAO Council and congratulate them. While both Biznustime and Biosensei weren’t seated in the Council, they have both expressed their support for those elected and look forward to working with them for the betterment of the Harmony project. There will be a follow-up article shortly dedicated to the Community DAO Council.

Partnership Updates

Timeless, is launching NFTs for shared cultural experiences. Timeless and Harmony can tokenize unique events and experiences on davinci.gallery, merging NFTs with some of the biggest events of the summer, from live concerts, sporting events, and many shared cultural experiences.

Tatum, which provides a free REST API blockchain infrastructure supporting over 25 separate blockchain protocols, is now supporting Harmony. The Tatum API consolidates otherwise complex blockchain operations into single API calls that can be seamlessly integrated into backend code. With Tatum, developers can quickly and easily build apps on Harmony with zero blockchain experience.

Ecosystem Update

HIP-6 passed unanimously which will increase the external voting power from 40% to 51%. As a result, external validators will now hold the majority of the voting power in the network.

Secondary Market on DaVinci goes live. Now users can buy and resell NFTs on Harmony.

Coin98 Wallet now supports Harmony. One of the leading decentralized wallets with a priority on quality and security, Coin98 wallet will now support Harmony. They are enthusiastic about opening up Harmony’s secure cross-chain bridges for their nearly 300,000 users.

NOW Payments includes ONE for payments, donations, and payouts. NOWPayments has integrated ONE in their API and plugins such as WooCommerce, WHMCS, PrestaShop, ZenCart, OpenCart, Magento 2 and more. This will enable users to send mass payments in ONE and you will be able to use ONE as a payroll option. Additionally, donations in ONE are also supported expanding the potential Harmonauts to Twitch streamers, those with their own website or even those wishing to donate on any social media platform.
