The Comeback of Privacy Coins in a Surveillance Era! In an era where surveillance is becoming the default and digital footprints are increasingly monetized or weaponized, privacy coins are staging a powerful comeback.

As governments double down on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and global financial regulations tighten under the guise of anti-money laundering (AML) compliance, a growing number of crypto users, activists, and everyday citizens are revisiting the importance of financial privacy.

🔍 The Surveillance-First Financial Future

Let’s be clear: the current financial trend is toward hyper-transparency, but not necessarily in a good way. The rollout of CBDCs in regions such as China and the EU, along with pilot programs in other nations, introduces a programmable, traceable form of money that could give state actors unprecedented control over how, when, and where money is spent.

Regulatory pressures are compelling centralized crypto platforms to adopt stricter Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols and comply with the “travel rule,” which mandates including user data in all crypto transactions.

In this context, privacy coins are not just making a comeback—they’re becoming a necessity.

🔒 Why Privacy Coins Matter

Privacy is not secrecy. It’s the ability to transact without unjust scrutiny, surveillance, or censorship. Imagine living in a world where buying a book, donating to a cause, or subscribing to a news outlet could be used against you. With fully transparent ledgers and CBDCs, that’s not a dystopian future—it’s a fast-approaching reality.

Enter privacy coins like PIVX, Monero, and Firo, which are pioneering tools for financial autonomy.

🟣 Spotlight on the Leading Privacy Coins

🔹 PIVX (Private Instant Verified Transaction)

Built on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) model, PIVX stands out for combining energy efficiency with strong privacy protections. Its zk-SNARKs integration (zk tech) and SHIELD protocol enable users to make private, untraceable transactions while still complying with optional transparency when needed—a balance between regulatory resilience and individual privacy.

Recent upgrades have made PIVX more lightweight, fast, and modular—perfect for a world where mobile-first, private spending is increasingly vital.

🔸 Monero (XMR)

The long-standing champion of privacy, Monero, continues to lead with features like RingCT (Ring Confidential Transactions) and stealth addresses, offering unparalleled transaction privacy by default.

Monero’s community and development ethos focus on resisting censorship, making it the go-to asset for those who value fungibility, even in the face of exchange delistings or blacklists.

🔹 Firo (formerly Zcoin)

Firo takes a hybrid approach, focusing on privacy and usability. It pioneered the use of Lelantus, a zero-knowledge proof system allowing large-scale private transactions without the need for a trusted setup.

Firo provides a user-friendly wallet and plans for scalability and mobile privacy, making it a practical choice for those seeking privacy without losing convenience.

🧠 The Rise of zk-Tech: Zero-Knowledge, Maximum Impact

Zero-Knowledge Proofs (zk-proofs) have become the holy grail for privacy infrastructure. These cryptographic methods allow a user to prove something (e.g., they have sufficient funds) without revealing any actual data.

Projects integrating zk-tech, like PIVX and Firo, are paving the way for next-gen privacy layers—whether it’s for payments, identity verification, or even private smart contracts.

In an age of surveillance capitalism and invasive data profiling, zk-tech offers a rare glimpse of hope: true decentralization with real confidentiality.

⚠️ The Risk of Doing Nothing

Without resistance, financial systems risk becoming tools of oppression. Programmable CBDCs can be used to:

Restrict purchases based on social credit or behavior.

Set expiry dates on your money.

Prevent spending outside pre-approved categories or merchants.

Instantly freeze or confiscate funds.

If cash disappears and CBDCs dominate, the average person loses the last bastion of anonymous, permissionless commerce.

🛡️ Privacy Is Financial Freedom

Supporting privacy coins is not about hiding something—it’s about protecting the fundamental right to transact without surveillance or discrimination.

Privacy coins, when responsibly developed and used, are tools of liberation, not evasion. They counter global surveillance trends and may be the last defense against constant monitoring of purchases, donations, or investments.

🔚 Conclusion

The comeback of privacy coins isn’t just a crypto trend—it’s a civil liberties movement. With CBDCs rising and regulations tightening, the question is: can we afford not to use privacy coins?

Support privacy as a human right, not just a feature, whether you’re a developer, investor, or advocate.

REQUEST AN ARTICLE

How to Stay Anonymous While Using Crypto? In the rapidly evolving world of digital finance, privacy has become more than a preference—it’s a necessity. As governments tighten regulations and blockchain analysis tools grow more sophisticated, staying anonymous while using cryptocurrency requires deliberate strategies.

This article outlines practical steps you can take to maintain your privacy in the crypto space, whether you’re a casual trader, privacy advocate, or crypto-native.

🛡️ 1. Understand the Difference: Privacy vs. Anonymity

Anonymity means your identity is unknown.

Privacy means your activity isn’t easily observed, even if your identity is.

Most blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum are pseudonymous, not anonymous—your wallet doesn’t have your name, but every transaction is permanently recorded and traceable.

🧩 2. Use Privacy-Focused Cryptocurrencies

Opt for coins designed with anonymity in mind:

Monero (XMR): Uses ring signatures and stealth addresses.

Zcash (ZEC): Offers optional shielded transactions with zk-SNARKs.

PIVX: Combines privacy features with staking rewards.

Firo & Beam: Integrate zero-knowledge protocols for complete financial confidentiality.

These coins make tracing transactions significantly harder.

🌀 3. Mix Your Coins (CoinJoin, Tumblers)

If you’re using Bitcoin, consider mixing services such as:

Wasabi Wallet: A privacy-focused Bitcoin wallet that uses CoinJoin.

Samourai Wallet: Known for advanced coin-mixing tools and stealth modes.

Note: Using mixers can raise regulatory red flags depending on your jurisdiction.

🛠️ 4. Choose the Right Wallets

Pick wallets that:

Don’t collect or share user data.

Support Tor or VPN routing.

Are open-source (so the community can audit them).

Recommended wallets:

Monerujo (for Monero)

Samourai Wallet

Sparrow Wallet

Edge Wallet (for multi-coin privacy with no KYC)

🌐 5. Mask Your IP and Device Fingerprint

Use:

Tor Browser or VPN to mask your IP address.

Privacy-centric operating systems like Tails or Whonix.

Separate devices for crypto vs. personal use.

Never access your wallet or exchange account over public Wi-Fi without protection.

💱 6. Avoid KYC Exchanges

Many centralized exchanges (CEXs) require you to upload ID documents. Instead:

Use decentralized exchanges (DEXs) like Uniswap, ThorChain, or Bisq.

Trade P2P using services like LocalMonero or HodlHodl.

Caution: Always consider the legal implications in your country before avoiding KYC.

🔐 7. Practice Operational Security (OpSec)

Don’t reuse wallet addresses.

Avoid linking your social profiles with crypto activity.

Be cautious about metadata in screenshots or transactions.

Store seed phrases offline and securely.

Anonymity isn’t a tool—it’s a discipline.

🚨 Bonus Tip: Don’t Boast

Even if you’re fully private on-chain, bragging about your crypto holdings on social media defeats the purpose. Be discreet. Your privacy is your power.

Final Thoughts

Staying anonymous while using crypto isn’t just about tools—it’s about mindset. As surveillance tightens, privacy-conscious users will lead the charge in reclaiming financial freedom.

Is Blockchain the Key to Financial Privacy?! In an era of increasing financial surveillance and data breaches, privacy has become a major concern for individuals and businesses. Many are turning to blockchain technology as a potential solution—but is it the key to financial privacy?

The Paradox of Transparency and Privacy

Blockchain is often praised for its transparency, immutability, and security. Public blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum allow anyone to verify transactions, but this very feature can also expose financial activity to unwanted scrutiny. Every transaction is recorded on a public ledger, making it possible to trace the flow of funds. This raises an important question: Can blockchain offer privacy while maintaining its core principles?

Privacy-Focused Blockchain Solutions

Several blockchain projects have taken up the challenge of enhancing financial privacy. Here are some key innovations:

1. Privacy Coins (PIVX, Monero, Zcash, etc.)

Privacy-focused cryptocurrencies use advanced cryptographic techniques like zk-SNARKs, Ring Signatures, and CoinJoin to obscure transaction details. PIVX, for example, utilizes the SHIELD protocol to provide optional transaction privacy while maintaining security and scalability.

2. Layer-2 Privacy Solutions

Protocols like Lightning Network (for Bitcoin) and zk-Rollups (for Ethereum) offer enhanced privacy by bundling transactions off-chain before settling them on the blockchain. These methods reduce traceability while maintaining efficiency.

3. Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Privacy

Privacy-preserving DeFi projects like Aztec, Tornado Cash, and Railgun enable anonymous transactions and financial interactions within smart contract ecosystems.

Challenges in Achieving True Financial Privacy

While blockchain technology has great potential, several challenges remain:

Regulatory Scrutiny
Governments and financial institutions often oppose privacy-focused cryptocurrencies, fearing their misuse in illicit activities.

Scalability Issues
Privacy-enhancing techniques can be computationally expensive, leading to slower transaction speeds and higher fees.

User Adoption
Many users still rely on centralized exchanges, which require identity verification (KYC), reducing the effectiveness of privacy solutions.

The Future of Financial Privacy

Blockchain is undoubtedly reshaping the financial landscape, but its role in privacy is still evolving. Innovations in cryptographic technology, decentralized identity solutions, and regulatory frameworks will determine whether blockchain can truly serve as the foundation for financial privacy.

For those seeking private transactions, projects like PIVX, Monero, and Zcash provide viable alternatives. However, achieving complete financial privacy requires more than just technology—it demands widespread adoption, regulatory clarity, and a fundamental shift in how we perceive financial autonomy.

REQUEST AN ARTICLE

How Privacy-Focused Cryptocurrencies Like PIVX Fit into DeFi? Decentralized Finance (DeFi) has been one of the most revolutionary developments in the cryptocurrency space, creating an ecosystem where traditional financial systems are replaced by blockchain technology and smart contracts. Within this landscape, privacy-focused cryptocurrencies, like PIVX (Private Instant Verified Transaction), play a significant yet often overlooked role. Their emphasis on confidentiality aligns well with the growing demand for privacy in financial transactions, presenting unique opportunities and challenges in the DeFi space.

The Importance of Privacy in DeFi

DeFi is known for its transparency, where every transaction is recorded on public blockchains like Ethereum and Bitcoin. While this transparency is essential for security and trust, it comes at the cost of user privacy. In a world where personal financial data is often a target for hackers and data brokers, the demand for private financial solutions is rising. Privacy coins, like PIVX, are designed to protect user identities and transaction details while still leveraging the advantages of decentralized systems.

Unlike traditional financial institutions, DeFi platforms do not require users to submit personal information, but they still expose transaction data to the public blockchain. Privacy-focused cryptocurrencies can help mitigate this issue, offering financial freedom without sacrificing confidentiality. This is where PIVX comes in. It integrates privacy features such as zero-knowledge proofs, stealth addresses, and zk-SNARKs to ensure that user information remains confidential while participating in DeFi activities.

How PIVX Works

PIVX is built on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, which is energy-efficient and scalable compared to the Proof-of-Work (PoW) mechanism used by Bitcoin. One of the key privacy features of PIVX is its use of zk-SNARKs, a form of zero-knowledge-proof technology. This allows users to prove the validity of a transaction without revealing the underlying data, making it an ideal fit for DeFi applications that require both security and privacy.

Additionally, PIVX offers a unique option for private transactions through its zk-SNARK-based protocol, ensuring that transaction details—such as sender, recipient, and transaction amount—are shielded from public view. By enabling private payments, PIVX addresses the need for confidentiality while retaining the decentralized nature of blockchain transactions.

PIVX in the DeFi Ecosystem

PIVX, while primarily focused on privacy, fits seamlessly into the DeFi ecosystem by facilitating anonymous transactions and private lending, borrowing, and swapping activities. In DeFi platforms, privacy coins like PIVX can be used to execute smart contracts without disclosing personal financial details, a major advantage in a sector that thrives on user autonomy and confidentiality.

Moreover, as more decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and liquidity pools emerge, there is an increasing demand for privacy-centric cryptocurrencies. PIVX can be used in these environments to enhance the privacy of transactions, reducing the risk of identity exposure while users engage in DeFi protocols. This is particularly important for users who value anonymity and wish to keep their financial activities private while interacting with various decentralized applications (dApps).

Challenges and Considerations

While privacy coins like PIVX offer undeniable benefits in terms of confidentiality, they are not without their challenges. Regulatory bodies worldwide are increasingly focusing on privacy coins due to concerns over illicit activities, such as money laundering and terrorism financing. As a result, certain platforms or jurisdictions may restrict or ban the use of privacy coins, potentially limiting their integration within DeFi.

Furthermore, there is a balance to be struck between maintaining privacy and ensuring that the DeFi ecosystem remains compliant with anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations. Privacy coins like PIVX must navigate this landscape carefully to remain viable in both DeFi and traditional financial systems.

Summary

Privacy-focused cryptocurrencies like PIVX are playing an essential role in the evolution of DeFi. By offering secure, anonymous transactions, PIVX enables users to participate in decentralized finance without sacrificing their privacy. As the DeFi space continues to grow, privacy will become an increasingly important consideration, and privacy coins will likely become more integrated into DeFi protocols and platforms. However, it will be crucial for projects like PIVX to strike the right balance between privacy and regulatory compliance to ensure their long-term success in the space.

PIVX — The People’s Privacy Coin, Why? PIVX is a privacy-focused, decentralized cryptocurrency that stands for “Private Instant Verified Transaction”. It was launched in 2016 as a fork of DASH, which is another cryptocurrency that uses a similar masternode system.

One of the main features of PIVX is its focus on privacy and anonymity. It uses a combination of cryptographic techniques to hide the transaction details and keep the identity of the participants anonymous. PIVX uses a technology called “zPIV” (zero-knowledge Proof of Identity Verification) to ensure that the transactions remain private and untraceable.

Another important feature of PIVX is its masternode system. Masternodes are special nodes that perform important functions on the PIVX network, such as validating transactions and governing the network. In exchange for providing these services, masternode operators are rewarded with PIVX tokens.

In addition to privacy and the masternode system, PIVX also offers fast transaction times and low transaction fees. Its network is designed to handle a large number of transactions per second, making it a good choice for merchants and businesses that want to accept cryptocurrency payments.

What are the products of PIVX?

The primary product of PIVX is its cryptocurrency, also called PIVX. PIVX is designed to be a fast, secure, and private digital currency that can be used for transactions around the world.

In addition to the cryptocurrency itself, PIVX offers a number of features and services that are designed to make it easier and more convenient for users to use and transact with PIVX.

These include:

1. zPIV
This is a privacy feature that allows users to convert their PIVX coins into a “private” form called zPIV. This makes it virtually impossible to trace the transactions or determine the identity of the sender or receiver.

2. Masternodes
PIVX uses a masternode system that allows users to earn a reward for participating in the network and performing important functions like transaction validation, governance, and network security.

3. Mobile Wallets
PIVX offers mobile wallets that can be used to store and send PIVX from a smartphone or tablet. This makes it easy to use PIVX for everyday transactions.

4. Community Governance
PIVX has a decentralized governance system that allows the community to vote on important decisions like funding proposals, network upgrades, and other changes to the protocol.

Overall, the primary product of PIVX is its cryptocurrency, but the network offers a range of features and services that make it a complete ecosystem for secure and private transactions.

Does PIVX Involve With DeFi?

PIVX is primarily focused on providing fast, secure, and private transactions as a digital currency, and does not currently have an extensive set of DeFi features. However, PIVX has explored some potential DeFi use cases, and there are community members working on developing DeFi-related tools and services.

For example, PIVX has explored the use of decentralized exchanges (DEXs) for trading PIVX and other cryptocurrencies. PIVX can be traded on a number of DEXs, including Uniswap, PancakeSwap, and QuickSwap, among others. By using a DEX, users can trade PIVX without the need for a central authority or intermediary.

In addition, PIVX has also explored the use of yield farming, which is a popular DeFi feature. Yield farming involves lending or staking cryptocurrency to earn a yield or interest. PIVX has explored various ways to implement yield farming and staking features, such as through the use of liquidity pools or masternodes.

While PIVX is not currently as involved in DeFi as some other cryptocurrencies. The project is always exploring new ways to expand and enhance its features and services. It is possible that PIVX will continue to develop more DeFi-related tools and services in the future.

Why Does PIVX Is Called “People’s Privacy Coin?”

PIVX is often referred to as “The People’s Privacy Coin” because of its commitment to privacy and its focus on the needs of everyday users. PIVX is designed to be a privacy-focused cryptocurrency that can be used by anyone, regardless of their technical expertise or background.

One of the key features of PIVX is its use of zero-knowledge proofs, which allow for private and untraceable transactions. This makes PIVX a good choice for users who value privacy and security when making transactions.

In addition, PIVX has a strong and active community of users and developers who are working to improve the network and expand its use cases. The project is governed by a decentralized governance system that allows the community to vote on important decisions and proposals.

Overall, PIVX’s focus on privacy, accessibility, and community involvement has made it a popular choice among users who are looking for a cryptocurrency that is designed to meet their needs and protect their privacy.

Swap PIVX conveniently with BasicSwap. Distinguishing it from some other DEXes, BasicSwap uses atomic swaps, where the only transactions are on the blockchains of the two coins being swapped. When a direct atomic swap is not available for two cryptocurrencies on BasicSwap, a pair of atomic swaps can be used—the first to Particl and the second to the new cryptocurrency.

BasicSwap is a new privacy‐focused Decentralized Exchange (DEX) that supports PIVX. It allows trustless exchange between PIVX and Bitcoin, Monero, Particl, Litecoin, or Namecoin.

Because BasicSwap is a DEX, it can avoid the data‐leaking, risk‐inducing Know Your Customer (KYC) processes used by centralized exchanges. And the lack of a centralized controller removes a path to censorship and loss. If you can successfully run wallets of the two cryptocurrencies involved in an atomic swap, you can make the swap.

So how do you use it?

BasicSwap is a software you install on your own computer and interface with using a browser, like Firefox, Brave, or Chrome.

When you install BasicSwap, you configure it for just the coins you want to use. This is because BasicSwap runs wallets for all those coins. Particl is always included. So if you plan to use BasicSwap to exchange Monero and PIVX, say, you will run Monero, Particl, and PIVX wallets. CPU, memory, and bandwidth resources are required for each, and overall resource consumption grows with the number of types of coins you want to exchange.

With this in mind, you may want to run BasicSwap on a separate computer from your main working computer. For full control, this is ideally at your physical location to reduce the risk of unwanted access, but it could also be on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) that is more easily acquired and reliable.

In all cases, security matters, but should be considered in proportion to the value of the cryptocurrencies you plan to swap. If you plan to swap hundreds, rather than thousands or more, of USD value at a time, for example, a VPS could be a good choice because you are already trusting the VPS provider with your payments for that service. On the other hand, some atomic swaps require the swapper to stay online, and this factor could make a VPS a better choice.

Optional Use of a VPS

A PIVX user choosing to use a VPS for BasicSwap might consider hosting with Contabo. It is a cost‐effective hoster highly regarded in the PIVX community for supporting PIVX Masternodes. If you would like to go with Contabo, you can use the instructions for VPS acquisition for Masternodes. The same specifications for a four‐node VPS can be used for BasicSwap: 4 cores, 200 GB SSD, 8 GB RAM, and 32 TB Traffic. The OS can be Ubuntu 20.04.

Installing BasicSwap

After you have either acquired a VPS or secured a local computer, you are ready to install the BasicSwap software. To do this, largely (while incorporating the modifications discussed below) follow the instructions given.

If using Ubuntu on Contabo, follow the instructions for Linux, which can be found under the Linux (vs. Windows) tabs on the instructions.

Starting on Day 1 of BasicSwap’s open beta, you’ll be able to place and take PIVX offers on BasicSwap’s distributed order book and swap it in exchange for a range of other cryptocurrencies.

All PIVX swaps are powered by atomic swaps and require no third-party involvement, wrapped assets, or intermediary layers. Additionally, due to the DEX’s fee-less architecture, PIVX swaps are free of charge. Meaning you’ll only need to pay the regular PIVX blockchain transaction fee and nothing extra.

BasicSwap is both a cross-chain and private decentralized exchange (DEX) protocol and a trading app that allows you to swap one cryptocurrency for another without any middleman or third-party involvement. It lets you make or take orders on a distributed order book and execute swaps that are safe, trustless, unrestricted, and private.

All of this combined sets BasicSwap apart from the unfathomable number of so-called DEXs out there and creates an environment that is free of any central point of failure. And best of all: it’s all available without trading fees.

In the coming days, BasicSwap release a powerful and very easy-to-use DEX client with useful features exclusive to its protocol. It also offers a uniquely private and decentralized way to swap several cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Litecoin, but also privacy coins like Monero (XMR) or Particl (PART) with no compromise to your privacy and a heavy focus on ease of use.

NOTE: At this beta stage, PIVX cannot yet be swapped with Monero or “anon” Particl coins. PIVX is working on a more extensive integration for non-Segwit coins which expect to go live later during beta.

Blocknet partnership with PIVX was announced recently. Just as the internet-connected computers, the Blocknet Protocol is critical for blockchains to communicate and realize their full potential.

Blocknet Overview

Blocknet is a blockchain interoperability protocol that enables communication, interaction, and exchange between different public and private blockchains, as well as connecting to external off-chain APIs and services via oracles. This exponentially increases the development capabilities and enables a new generation of mature blockchains and services.

Moreover, Blocknet is an open-sourced, self-funded, and self-governed project with contributors around the world building an open and collaborative ecosystem.

The Blocknet is the infrastructure for the coming “inter-blockchain era,” an emerging technology epoch characterized primarily by the superseding of the current API ecosystem with a decentralized and intrinsically monetized “token ecosystem.” This will occur when its enabling technologies (specifically, smart contracts and “dapps”) mature to the point
of possessing practical inter-blockchain interoperability. At the time of writing, Blocknet is the technological leader in the provision of inter-chain infrastructure for use by dapps and smart contracts.

Blocknet Project Background

Started in 2014, Blocknet is a decentralized, community-governed, self-funded, open-sourced project that serves as a connector between different blockchains, markets, and communities.

The project was founded on the principles of openness, transparency, and maintaining a high level of decentralization. These principles apply to both its community and protocol, which aims to bring blockchains and communities together.

Furthermore, Blocknet is unique in that there is no company or foundation behind the project. Instead, Blocknet is self-governed by its stakeholders, meaning that stakers, token-holders, Service Node operators, and others with a stake in the blockchain have the ability to make decisions together. This self-governance is maintained through a Superblock mechanism, as well as open communication in its Discord.

Blocknet Vision

Moreover, the future Blocknet sees for blockchain is a highly collaborative microservice ecosystem. Blocknet envisions an ecosystem of single-purpose microservice blockchains that perform one task really well and are secure, reliable, and efficient. These microservice blockchains can then consume by dApps and other blockchains to build more complex, yet modular, services.

This type of architecture is made possible with the Blocknet Protocol. Just as the internet enabled computers to communicate, the Blocknet Protocol enables an internet of blockchains, which is critical for the ecosystem to realize its full potential.

PIVX: Protected Instant Verified Transaction

Protected Instant Verified Transaction (PIVX) was announced on bitcointalk.org on November 25th,2015. For historical purposes, PIVX originally launches under the name Darknet (DNET). Officially rebrands to PIVX on January 1st, 2017. Additionally, on January 30th, 2016 it is announce that PIVX (DNET) officially release at 04:10:07 UTC on January 30th, 2016 the first block of the PIVX network was created.

The PIVX network currently operates on a PoS consensus algorithm. The original concept relied heavily on the notion of “coin age,” or how long a UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) has not been spend on the blockchain.

In this way, it differs from PoW by not focusing on and rewarding miners, but rather rewarding anyone willing to participate in the running of the network (holding their coins on a node). The protocol further refines in PoS version two for BlackCoin by Pavel Vasin with several potential security fixes.

Furthermore, Vasin’s fixes included the potential of a malicious node to abuse coin age to perform a double spend. The potential for honest nodes to abuse the system by staking only periodically and negating coin age from consensus. Moreover, the robustness and innovation of PIVX’s PoS model further enhance in an update of the protocol at the end of 2016 with the novel implementation of Zerocoin Proof of Stake (zPoS) in 2018.

Since then the project has undergone further improvements and security updates, for example, the new Time Protocol. In addition, PIVX has pioneered beyond the original concepts of PoS with its continual development providing superior security and the novelty of a corresponding Masternode layer and financial data protection features.

THE PIVX FEATURES

Shielded Protection — world’s first zk-SNARKs-based financial data protection protocol on a Proof of Stake blockchain

Advanced Proof of Stake — receive rewards for securing the PIVX network just by holding coins in your wallet.

Cold Staking — receive staking rewards while your funds are securely lock in offline cold storage.

Masternodes — get more rewards for hosting and providing layer two services to the PIVX network.

Decentralized Governance — submit and vote on project proposals, budgets, and expenses.

Sustainable Economics — the long-term balance between inflation and deflation; engineered to be scalable.

PARTNERSHIP IMPORTANCE

PIVX and Blocknet will be working together to explore ways to collaborate on the development of BlockDX, the world’s most decentralized exchange.

ABOUT PIVX

PIVX cold staking earn with privacy is the new standard of earning while protecting your own privacy. Experience the freedom of global digital cash with SHIELD User Data Protection. Be your own bank with full control of your digital assets through PIVX infrastructure.

To start with, PIVX Cold staking requires two PIVX wallets. One to hold the funds (this can be also a hardware wallet and does not need to be always online) and another one, the hot node, to do the staking (this needs to be online 24/7).

Setting Up Cold Staking

In order to set up cold-staking, you need to perform the following steps (either with the command-line interface CLI or with the graphical interface GUI):

Generate a “staking address” from the staker wallet (if you don’t have one already).

Generate an “owner address” from the owner’s wallet (if you don’t have one already

Create a “cold stake delegation”.

Whitelist the owner’s address on your staker (if you haven’t already).

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

Moreover, to send more delegations, using the same addresses-pair, just replicate step 3 of this guide.

1) Generate a “staking address” from the staker wallet—Staking addresses must be owned by the staker wallet (the one that is online 24/7 and holds no funds)
Kindly refer to the photo below

USE GUI to create a staking address, after enabling the cold staking tab (clicking on the topbar icon), select Staker–> “Create cold stake address”

Insert any amount, a label for the address, optionally a description, and click “Generate”

The new address gets visualized, along with a QR code.

You can either copy the address or the URL to paste it during the delegation (see point n.3).

You don’t need to create a new staking address for each delegation. You can reuse your previously generated addresses. To view them click “My staking addresses”

2) Generate an “owner address” from the owner’s wallet

Owner addresses are regular PIVX addresses.

Their private key can be used to redeem delegated coins. Creating an owner address is akin to creating a receiving address.

They must belong to the owner’s wallet (the one that is offline and has ownership of the coins).

The owner’s wallet can also be a hardware wallet device or a paper wallet.

Use GUI to get a new owner address, simply go to the “Receive” tab and click “Generate address”. In addition, you don’t need to create a new owner address for each delegation. Additionally, you can reuse your previously generated addresses.

3) Create a “cold stake delegation”. This is also the main step. Furthermore, to delegate coins you need to send a special “delegation contract” transaction.
Check the attached photo

Use GUI From the cold staking widget, click “delegation”.

As with the regular sending operation, you must select an amount and either let the wallet pick the coins, or select them with coin control.

Insert the staker address (or select it from the list of previously used ones), a description, and (optionally) an owner address (again, if not provided, it will be generated automatically).

Then click “Delegate”.

4) Whitelist the owner’s address on your staker. Furthermore, in order to stake delegations, the owner’s address must be whitelisted by the staker.
Refer to the photo below

GUI

The delegation is visible in the “Staker” tab of the cold staking widget

To whitelist, the delegator, click on its row and select “Stake” from the contextual menu

To remove the delegator from the whitelist, select “Blacklist” from the contextual menu

Secure & Effortless Cold Staking

Furthermore, receive staking rewards while your funds are securely locked in offline cold storage. Additionally, delegate your PIV for staking to a hot wallet while maintaining full control. Moreover, with Cold Staking, you retain the private keys for your PIV, and your staking rewards offline, while a hot wallet remains online to stake on your behalf.

Estimate your staking Rewards

Additionally, estimate your rewards and see how simple it is to receive staking rewards with PIVX.

NOTE: There is no way to know how many nodes are running on the network, and how much PIV is being stakes at any time, so these calculations are estimates.

Third-Party Staking Services

Furthermore, if you do not have the resources to maintain a hot wallet to service your cold staking. In addition, there are a number of third-party services and volunteers willing to provide you a wallet to delegate staking.

You will find some of those service providers below.
